Artist Statement
Painting is an intuitive, exploratory process for me. In the words of Andy Goldsworthy, “My work comes first, reasons for it later.” On the surface, the paintings are about color, texture, space, and line. But ultimately, they end up reflecting personal issues and conflicts.

Currently, I am exploring psychological space. Specifically, what does it means to be constrained by the intangible? By concepts and perceptions that might sometimes manifest themselves in material ways, but are never-the-less distinct from physical confinements such as walls or bars?
